The Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Improvement Towards a Sustainable Development

Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) is gaining popularity as a tool to achieve sustainabledevelopment. It consists of mixed-use development, which can cater urban sprawl, road traffic congestion and an increase in carbon gas emission. There are efforts incentives by the Malaysian policies related TOD constructed under Eleventh Plan (RMK-11) encourage public transportation, walking, cycling alternative main modes. However, seem vain not concerned regarding this issue. This study examined TOD's implementation towards sustainable community with following objectives: determine thecriteria concept TOD, investigate issues challenges implementing recommend improvement development. The scope identifythe around Subang Jaya station A mixed-methodof qualitative quantitative research used semi-structured interview, questionnaire distribution, observation, document analysis. data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) 22, while content results show that still immature developing phase. top three criteria were identified; reduce private vehicle congestion, pollution emission, connectivity other spaces or area. Three significant limited number park-and-ride facilities, housing price transit quality service transportation served agencies. workable recommendation developed after industry practitioners tested it.
